Ibikunle Amosun Denies Allegations Over Dangote Refinery Relocation

The former Governor of Ogun State, Senator Ibikunle Amosun, has refuted claims by his successor, Dapo Abiodun, that he was responsible for the relocation of the $19bn Dangote refinery from Ogun to Lagos State. In a statement issued through his media aide, Bola Adeyemi, Amosun labelled Abiodun's allegations as "lies." He argued that the decision to move the refinery was made by Alhaji Aliko Dangote himself according to his business strategy and risk assessment. Two Farmers Allegedly Attacked by Herdsmen in Ondo

There has been an alleged attack by herdsmen on two farmers at Ifira-Akoko in Akoko South East Local Government Area of Ondo State. According to the Daily Post, a youth in the community said two farmers were attacked when trying to stop suspected herdsmen from damaging their farmlands. Protest Rocks Ondo As Unknown Gunmen Kill High Chief

Some youths in Owo Kingdom in the Owo Local Government Area of Ondo State on Wednesday night staged a protest over the killing of a high chief in the community, Tunde Ilori Elerewe, by unknown gunmen. Newsmen gathered that Elerewe was murdered in the community while returning from where he and some other chiefs had gone to settle a dispute on the order of the Olowo Of Owo, Oba Ajibade Ogunoye. Two mobile policemen and one civilian have been shot dead by gunmen suspected to be armed robbers in a bullion van attack in Ondo State. The attack occurred on Wednesday evening in the Costain axis within the commercial town of Ore in Odigbo Local Government Area of Ondo State. The Ondo State Governor, Mr Rotimi Akeredolu has disclosed that he would not react to the statement attributed to the Senate President, Ahmed Lawan, on the issue of insecurity in the country, saying he was not interested in engaging any person or group of persons in media war on the issue, especially the ones that concern the South-West. The Governor stated this through his Special Assistant on New Media, Mr Olabode Olatunde. Ondo State Governor, Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, is mourning the death of his Chief of Protocol, Tosin Ogunbodede. This is coming a few weeks after Governor Akeredolu’s mourned the death of his Commissioner of Regional Integration and Special Duties, Professor Bayonle Ademodi. Ogunbodede died on Saturday died in a ghastly accident while returning from Ibadan. Late Ogunbodede died alongside his driver when the Toyota Corolla car they were riding in rammed into a trailer along Ilesa-Akure road.
