Urges Deputy, Ajayi to resign Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu of Ondo State on Tuesday aimed a subtle jab at the Peoples Democratic Party, saying that his victory at the governorship poll on Saturday proved that Ondo is not Edo. Ondo Decides: Akeredolu Tops as INEC Declares Results from 15 LGAs

Candidate of the All Progressive Congress (APC), Oluwarotimi Akeredolu has maintained the lead in the Ondo State governorship election as results from 15 out of 18 Local Governments are announced. This is according to results announced by the electoral umpire, Independent National Electoral Commission at its collation centre in Akure. Candidate of the APC, Akeredolu won in 12 LGAs while Eyitayo Jegede of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), polled the highest votes in three LGAs. The candidate of the Zenith Labour Party (ZLP), and Deputy governor of the state, is yet to win any LGA. INEC Office Fire Outbreak: Ondo Police Launches Investigation

Following the fire outbreak at the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) office in Akure, Ondo State, Police has launched an investigation to unravel circumstances leading to the incident. No fewer than 5,000 Smart Card Readers stored in a container inside the INEC office were destroyed during the fire that took place on Thursday. Commissioner of Police in Ondo State, Bolaji Salami during his visit to the INEC office for an on-scene assessment said pledged to bring any individual involved in the fire to justice. "We want to promise all law-abiding citizens of the state not to entertain any fear as we have begun our investigation.
