Nigeria: Seven Police Officers Killed by Armed Attackers in Abuja

Seven men of the Nigerian Police Force have been reportedly gunned down by unknown armed attackers this afternoon at Abuja. The incident is said to have taken place at the Galadimawa Junction, off the International Airport Road. As at the time of filing this report full details of the incident was not yet known. Nigeria: Produce Offa Robbery Gang Leader or be Sued – CSOs to Police

Following the rumoured death of the leader of the gang that carried out the Offa robbery that claimed about 33 persons, some Civil Society Organizations have called on the Police to produce him or face legal action. The leader of the gang, Michael Adikwu who is a former Police officer was rumoured to have been shot by the Police in custody as a means of getting confessions from the others. While making their demand, the CSOs said "If he (Adikwu) has been killed, the police should come clean and name his executors, this is in keeping with the Freedom of Information Act (FOI)," the petition said. Nigeria: Senator President Implicated in Offa Bank Robbery

The Nigerian Police Force has invited the Nigerian Senate President, Dr Bukola Saraki to answer some questions regarding the Offa robbery which led to the death of a total of about 33 persons, nine of which were Police officers. According to the Police, the invitation became necessary when some of the arrested suspects confessed to being political thugs to the Senate President.
