The opposition coalition in Mali, M5-REP has lent its support to the mutinying solders that ousted President Ibrahim Boubacar Keita and commended their willingness to handover to a civilian transitional government. ASUU Gives Payment of Arrears as Precondition to Ending Strike

The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) has tasked the Nigerian Government to pay withheld salaries of its members as a precondition to suspension of ongoing industrial action. National President of ASUU, Prof Biodun Ogunyemi while speaking at the unveiling of the union’s Universities Transparency and Accountability Solution at the University of Abuja said making the payment was instrumental to further negotiations with the government over the ongoing strike. Reps Fault Chinese Loan Terms, as FG Confirms Sovereignty Clause

The House of Representatives has frowned at the sovereignty clause in Nigeria’s loan agreement with China, describing it as dangerous. Nicholas Ossai, Chairman of the House Committee on Treaties, Protocols and Agreements stated this at the investigative hearing on external loans and commercial agreements, saying Nigeria’s loan agreement with China was overseen by Chinese laws.
