Return to Duty Post or Risk Dismissal, PSC Warns Policemen Reluctant to Return to Post

The Police Service Commission (PSC) has sounded a note of warning to some officers of the force who are reluctant to return to their duty posts following the violence which erupted during the aftermath of the #EndSARS protest resulting in the killing of over 22 officers. The PSC while urging the officers to put the killing behind them, stated that Public Service Rules which also applies to officers of the Nigeria Police Force, stipulates dismissal for any officer that absconds from duty. The Police hierarchy reiterated that officers of the force should be protected at all times as fellow human beings, hence did not deserve to be killed. The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has dismissed an officer Corps Assistant Illiya Ibrahim of the Gwagwalada Division, Abuja, who was caught on tape participating in the looting of COVID-19 palliatives discovered in the area. WAEC Discloses SSSCE Results Release Date, See When

The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has announced that the results of the 2020 Senior Secondary Certificate Examinations will be released next week. Students sat for the West African Senior Secondary Certificate Examination between August 17, 2020 and Saturday, September 12 2020 after the Minister of Education, Mallam Adamu Adamu had granted permission to schools to resume prior to the examinations. It came after schools across the federation were shut down in March to curb the spread of COVID-19.
