Kwara Government Mourns the Deaths of Ex-Offa Poly Rector and Kawu

Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq has symphastised with the Offa community over the death of the former Rector of Federal Polytechnic (FedPoly) Offa, Dr Muftau Olatinwo. AbdulRazaq, in a statement on Sunday by his Chief Press Secretary, Rafiu Ajakaye said the death of this fine administrator came as a shock. " We commiserate with the entire Olatinwo lineage, the Olofa of Offa Oba Mufutau Gbadamosi Esuwoye II, and the academic community over the sad demise of Dr Olatinwo. Leaders of the Southern and Middle belt areas of Nigeria have declined the invitation extended to them by former head of state, Gen. Abdusalami Abubakar to a roundtable on national issues and security. The decision not to attend the meeting was based on the inclusion of Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria in the round table. YABATECH: ASUP Quits from Part-Time Programmes Over Shortfall in Wages

The Academic Staff Union of Polytechnic (ASUP), Yaba College of Technology (Yabatech), on Monday disengaged from all the part-time programmes in the college following the shortfall in the payment of wages and allowances to its members. Mr Nureni Yekini, Chairman ASUP disclosed the union decision to newsmen at the end of the union’s congress in Lagos. He said that all services had been suspended till further notice.
