Oliseh Reacts To Morocco’s World Cup Record Win

Sunday Oliseh, former Super Eagles coach, has praised the Atlas Lions of Morocco for their historic win over Portugal in the 2022 World Cup quarter-finals on Saturday. Morocco became the first African team to make it to the semi-final of the World Cup when they beat Portugal at the Thumama Stadium, Doha. Youssef En-Nesyri bagged the winning goal in the 42nd minute of the match. ICPC Frees D’Banj, Says Probe Ongoing

The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission, ICPC, has said that Nigerian music star, Oladapo Oyebanjo, popularly known as D’banj, has been released but that investigation will continue. Recall that the commission had on Tuesday, December 6, 2022, detained D’Banj, after he was quizzed over his involvement in the alleged diversion of funds meant for the Federal Government’s economic empowerment programme, N-Power. Reacting to the allegation, Pelumi Olajengbesi, counsel to the singer, D’Banj, said his client was unconditionally freed. World Cup: Ighalo Tips Morocco To Shock Portugal

Odion Ighalo, former Super Eagles striker, has tipped Morocco to shock Portugal when they meet in the quarter-finals of the FIFA World Cup in Qatar on Saturday.   Morocco turned out as the second African team after the Super Eagles of Nigeria to beat Spain at the World Cup after they emerged victorious over the 2018 winner on penalties. Morocco beat the European giant 3-0 on spot kicks after a barren draw.    The North African side is the fourth African team to reach the quarter-final of the World Cup. Each of the previous teams to have reached this stage did not progress further, with Cameroon (1990), Senegal (2002), and Ghana (2010) being knocked out in agonizing circumstances. Customs Seize 2,375 Litres Of Petrol, Generate Over N127m In Sokoto

The Nigerian Customs Service, NCS, Kebbi State Command, has seized not less than 2,375 litres of Petroleum Motor Spirit popularly known as petrol loaded in jerricans. The command in its November review stated that smuggled 303 bales and 94 sacks of second-hand clothing, and 58 bags of foreign parboiled rice of 50kg each; among other items with a duty paid value of 46,706,795,00 were intercepted by its operatives. Comptroller Joseph Attah, the Customs Area Controller stated this on Thursday while displaying the seized items by the Command in the month of November. He said that the command made more than N127 million in revenue during the period of review. NRC Increases Fares On Lagos-Ibadan Train Service Over Diesel Cost

The Nigeria Railway Corporation, NRC, has disclosed that the fares for Lagos-Ibadan and Lagos-Abeokuta train have been reviewed upwards. Recall that the NRC had in August announced a reduction in the number of trips on the Lagos-Ibadan route due to an increase in the cost of diesel. In a memo issued by the NRC, the train services for the Lagos-Ibadan route were hiked. Labour Party Assembly Candidate In Imo Dies

Chukwunonye Irouno, the Labour Party candidate for Okigwe Local Government Area of Imo State has died. The deceased who was a popular master of ceremony in Owerri and the Senior Special Assistant on Public Affairs and Entertainment to a former governor of the State, Rochas Okorocha, passed on late on Monday in his Owerri residence.
