The People's Democratic Party has this afternoon alleged that there is an ongoing crack down on its official in Osun state. In a series of tweets, the party said this was in preparation of a plot to rig the runn-off elections. It tweeted "Breaking! Ongoing Random Arrest of PDP Leaders/Supporters in Osun State.There is an ongoing crackdown on top PDP leaders at Osogbo,Ile Ife and Orolu in preparation for the grand plot to rig the forthcoming supplementary polls." The Peoples Democratic Party and other stakeholders protested on Sunday after the Independent National Electoral Commission declared the Osun State governorship election inconclusive. The commission also fixed the rerun poll in the seven polling units where election result was cancelled for Thursday, September 27, 2018. Although the candidate of the PDP, Senator Ademola Adeleke scored 254,698 votes to beat the candidate of the All Progressives Congress who polled 254,345 votes, INEC said Adeleke could not be declared the winner because the number of votes cancelled – 3,498, was higher than 353 by which the PDP candidate defeated Oyetola. Nigeria: Ras Kimono’s Wife Dies Three Months After His Death

Efemena Okedi, the wife of late Raggae artiste, Chux Ohai, aka Ras Kimono, is dead. The death of the 42-year-old is coming three weeks after her husband was buried. Ras Kimono had slumped at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport on Saturday, June 9, 2018, and died the following day at a Lagos hospital. The Under Pressure crooner was aged 60. PUNCH Metro gathered that Okedi attended a family function on Saturday. She reportedly complained of a chest pain on Sunday and was rushed to the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital, Ikeja, where she died. I am taken aback by the line of defence proffered by Minister of Communications, Barrister Adebayo Shittu for skipping National Youth Service. Is the man kidding Nigerians? I have heard the man speak on various occasions and consider him intelligent. I however consider his reason for deliberately skipping the National Youth Service as one of the most silly and unreasonable arguments I've ever heard from a lawyer. His argument is said to be that having been elected into the Oyo State House of Assembly at age 26, after law school, he felt that was "National service"!
