Breaking: Two Dead as Helicopter Crashes in Lagos

A plane has crashed in Lagos, Nigeria leading to the death of the pilot and one passenger. Reports say one person was rescued alive from the Quorum Aviation owned helicopter, Sahara Reporters reports. Eye witness account say the crash took place around the Salvation Bus-stop area of Lagos. The figures were confirmed by Nosa Okunbor, Head of Public Affairs of Lagos State Emergency Management Agency. Okunbor said, "There are three casualties. Two died. One resuscitated and taken to the hospital."

Akin Abayomi, Commissioner for Health in Lagos State has been diagnosed of COVID-19. This was confirmed by commissioner for Information and Strategy Gbenga Omotoso in a tweet on Twitter on Monday. UNILAG Crisis: FG Suspends Pro-Chancellor, Vice-Chancellor, Sets Up Panel

The federal government has waded into the crisis rocking the University of Lagos (UNILAG), suspending Wale Babalakin as the pro-chancellor and chairman, governing council of the institution. This was disclosed in a statement on Friday by spokesperson of the ministry of education, Ben Goong, Cable published. Goong also stated that Oluwatoyin was equally suspended as the vice-chancellor (VC), adding that a panel of inquiry has been commissioned to probe the crisis rocking the institution. COVID-19 Test in Lagos, Nigeria to Cost Between 40,000-50,400 As Government Approves Private Labs

The Lagos state government has incorporated private sector laboratories to commence COVID-19 tests. Residents would be required to pay between N40,000-N50,400 to be tested in the private labs. This was announced by the Lagos State Commissioner for Health, Professor Abayomi while inaugurating the Private-Public collaboration on the containment of coronavirus to expand the capacity of the government to effectively respond to the pandemic. Abayomi said that residents who are unable to access free testing at government run laboratories now have the option to get tested at private sector laboratories at a fee between N40,000 and N50,400.
