Lagos SUBEB to Partner LNSC in the Fight Against Social Vices in Schools

The Lagos State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB) on Thursday reiterated his commitment to seek the support of the Lagos Neighbourhood Safety Agency (LNSC) in curbing cultism and other social vices in primary schools in the state. Dr. Abdul Ganiyu Shopeyin, the State Chairman, sought for the partnership when the board visited the LNSCA headquarter’s Safety Arena, at Oshodi, Lagos. Shopeyin said that the agency was saddled with the responsibility of managing public primary schools in the state and ensuring that lives of pupils and property of the schools were safe. The Lagos Waste Management Authority (LAWMA) on Wednesday urged  residents to properly dispose of their domestic wastes during and after the forth-coming Eid-el-Kabir celebrations. The Assistant Director, Public Affairs of LAWMA, Mrs. Folashade Kadiri, disclosed this in a statement that adequate measures had been put in place to ensure that the celebration was observed in a filth-free environment, as waste evacuators have been mandated to work round the clock to clean up the city. Three-storey Building Collapses in Lagos

A three-storey has reportedly collapsed in the Ososa area of Bariga, Lagos State. The building collapsed around 9.30pm on Sunday. According to the Eye witness, six people had been rescued, and that many more might be trapped in the rubble. Residents said men of the Lagos State Fire Service were already on the ground, but were unable to gain entry yet, because the road to the scene is really bad. He said, “I stay around the area; the building that collapsed is a residential building and the incident happened around 9.30pm. People are still there, but rescuers have been able to pull out about six people.
