2023: Deputy Governor, SGS, Adviser Resign In Katsina

Mannir Yakubu Deputy governor of Katsina state, Mannir Yakubu, has resigned his appointment as the Commissioner for Agriculture and Natural Resources in the state as he is set to contest for the governor’s seat. Mr Yakubu will, however, continue with his duties as deputy governor of Katsina. He was appointed commissioner in addition to his role as deputy governor of the state. Other political appointees who have resigned include the secretary to the government of the state, Mustapha Inuwa, and the special adviser to the governor on political affairs, Kabiru Shuaibu. The trio sent in their resignation letters to Katsina governor, Aminu Masari, Thursday morning. Katsina State Commissioner for Science and Technology, Assassinated

Katsina State Commissioner for Science and Technology, Dr Rabe Nasir, has been assassinated. It was gathered that he was gunned down at his residence in Fatima Shema Estate in Katsina metropolis. A source who confirmed to newsmen the incident said, “Late Nasir was shot after Asr prayer in his residence here in Fatima Shema Estate.” Late Nasir was the Special Advisor to Governor Masari on Science and Technology before he was eventually appointed a commissioner. Dr Nasir was educated at the University of Abuja, University of Kansas Lawrence, Bayero University Kano, and Government Secondary School Giwa, Kaduna State. BREAKING: Kidnapped Kankara Students Freed

The Katsina State Government on Thursday night at about 9pm announced the release of the 333 boys of Government Science Secondary School, Kankara who were abducted when bandits invaded the School on Friday December 11, 2020. A statement from the Secretary to Government of Katsina State, Mustapha Mohammed Inuwa confirming the release of the boys said they are being transported to the Government House for presentation to the Governor.
