Opinion: How Bad Does Nigeria Have to Get?
When a business becomes unprofitable and insolvent, it is put through the bankruptcy courts where it undergoes financial ‘restructuring’. This can involve de-mergers, spin-offs and other activities that show that the original enterprise was flawed and is resulting in losses for its stakeholders.
How bad does Nigeria have to get before we embark on bankruptcy proceedings? How much more can we take before we ‘restructure’, de-merge, spin-off or do whatever it takes to stop this accelerating descent into medieval mediocrity that has been the case since 1966?
Another election is like attempting to change management for a Horse Carriage business in the hopes that the new team will somehow achieve results against the trend towards automobiles (circa 1940s).
