Buhari Mourns India’s Defence Chief, Wife, 11 Others After Helicopter Crash

President Muhammadu Buhari has offered his condolences to the Indian government and families of victims who died in the crash that killed the country's Chief of Defence Staff, Gen Bipin Rawat. An Indian air force helicopter had crashed and killed the defence chief, General Bipin Rawat, and 12 others after losing contact with air traffic control seven minutes before it was supposed to land. Rawat, 63, his wife and 11 army and air force personnel on board were killed in the crash on Wednesday. Three Nigeria Drug Syndicate Arrested In India For Cocaine Trafficking

Three African nationals were arrested in Dwarka for allegedly running a drug racket and heroin worth Rs 13 crore was seized from their possession, police said on Wednesday. Stanley Chimeize Alasonye (41), the mastermind of the drug syndicate, Henry Okolie (41) and Uchechukwu Peter Igbonaju (37) were arrested with 1 kg and 300 gram of heroin, they said. According to the police, the gang was recently active in Uttam Nagar and Mohan Garden. The accused were intruders and lived here without valid visas, they said. The contraband was smuggled in India from Nigeria via Russia through Indian ports, the police said. COVID-19: FG restricts Passengers from Brazil, India, Turkey

The Federal Government has resolved to  deny non-Nigerian passport holders and non-residents who visited Brazil, India or Turkey within 14 days entry into Nigeria. This decision was part of the decisions reached by the Presidential Steering Committee on COVID-19 following increasing cases of COVID-19 and fatalities in some parts of the world. The committee’s chairman, Boss Mustapha, disclosed this in a statement titled ‘Travel advisory for passengers arriving Nigeria from Brazil, India and Turkey.’ According to the statement, the travel advisory shall take effect from Tuesday while it shall be subjected to review after an initial period of four weeks.
