Nigeria's ace winger and Chelsea player Victor Moses has announced his retirement from international football. Moses who will turn 28 in December says he has had his best times wearing the Nigerian green and white colors. In a statement he released on Twitter, Victor Moses said he felt it was time for him to leave the stage so the younger players can step up and shine. He also said he wants to focus on club football as well as his young family. Sports: Nigerian Coach, Salisu Yusuf Caught on Video Receiving Bribe

Assistant coach of the Super Eagles and current coach of the Nigerian team to the 2020 Olympics was caught on camera taking bribe to feature certain players. The Video which was Ghanaian investigative journalist, Anas Aremeyaw Anas showed Yusuf being paid about $1000 with a promise of more financial incentives should the players be selected. Salisu Yusuf currently earns about N3 Million monthly which amounts to about $8,300. Breaking: Ex-Plateau State Governor, Joshua Dariye Sentenced to 14 Years Imprisonment

Mr Joshua Dariye, former governor of Plateau state has sentenced to a 14 year jail term by an Abuja high court. Mr Dariye who was a governor of Plateau state between 1999 and 2007 was charged to by the EFCC on July 13, 2007 on a 23 count charge for money laundering allegedly diverting the State’s 1.126 billion Naira ecological funds. He was today June 12, 2018 found guilty of criminal misappropriation for which he was sentenced to a 2 year jail term and for criminal breach of trust for which he was sentenced to 14 years. Today, 7th of June 2018, The Supreme Court struck out GTBank’s motion for stay of execution of the Enugu Court of Appeal Division’s order that GTBank pays over N6 Billion into an interest yielding account at the Court of Appeal. The Federal Government of Nigeria has changed the date democracy day is celebrated from May 29 to June 12. There has for some time been clamours from a section of the country for the declaration of June 12 a National public holiday. Currently, the South-west states mark June 12 as a public holiday, to mark the date the late M.K.O Abiola purportedly won the 1993 presidential elections which was annulled by then Head of State, Ibrahim Babangida. In a press release today, the Federal Government announced the adoption of June 12 as the new democracy day and the conferment of national awards on M.K.O Abiola (GCFR - post humously), Baba Gana Kingibe (GCON) and Gani Fawehinmi (GCON - post humously). Nigeria: Nine Killed and 45 Houses Destroyed In Fresh Benue Attacks

No fewer than nine persons have been killed and 45 houses destroyed in fresh herdsmen attacks that took place in three different communities Tuesday night. According to the report on Daily Post, the attackers killed six persons in Tse Shan, two in Tse Nyamkyume in Saghev both in Guma LGA while one person was killed in Tse Ngo Jov Tombo Logo LGA. According to the report, the victims were mostly women and children who were unable to run when the attackers came. A number of persons are missing following the attack. Source Daily Post

People were seen queuing up outside Nike's store in London in a bid to get the kit which sold for £64.95 (about N32,000). The Nigerian kit appears to have won them new fans even as Nigerians encourage the Super Eagles to go to the world cup and be as successful as their kit's launch was. In celebration of this year's Biafra day on May 30th, Biafra agitators staged a sit-at-home protest which was said to have recorded about 95% compliance. The decision to stage sit-at-home protests to mark Biafra celebration day started last year as a result of the clamp down by Nigerian authorities on their non-violent street protests. According to Amnesty International, hundreds of unarmed protesters have been killed by the nation's security operatives at several peaceful protests.
