IGP Names Those Behind Attacks on INEC Offices

Usman Baba, the Inspector-General of Police, has indicted politicians and other popular dignitaries of masterminding the recent attacks on the officers of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, in different parts of Nigeria. Baba who was represented by Dandaura Mustapha, the Deputy Inspector-General, Department of Operations, disclosed this on Friday when he appeared before the House of Representatives ad hoc committee investigating attacks on INEC assets across the country. Tinubu Not From Lagos – Bode George

Chief Bode George, a chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has alleged that Bola Tinubu, the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, is not an indigene of Lagos State. He made the claim during an interview on Arise Television’s Morning Show on Tuesday. The PDP stalwart said that Tinubu was yet to prove that he is from Lagos, having failed to produce any evidence to support his claim of being an indigene of the State. Police Nab Two in Possession Of 468 PVCs

The police have nabbed two individuals in possession of 468 Permanent Voter Cards, PVCs. This was contained in a statement by the Independent National Electoral Commission’s National Commissioner, Information and Voter Education Committee, Festus Okoye, on Sunday. Okoye said one of the suspects identified as Nasiru Idris, was caught with 101 PVCs in Sokoto State and another whose name was not disclosed was found with 367 PVCs in Kano State. The statement said that the act was a breach of Sections 117 and 145 of the Electoral Act 2022. According to the statement, the offenders were presently receiving their due punishment.
