Update: Oshiomhole’s Suspension Lifted by Edo APC Ward Executives

The suspension of Adams Oshiomhole by the All Progressive Congress (APC) at his ward has been lifted. It was lifted by seventeen out of 27 members of the Ward 10, Etsako West Local Government Area,  APC congress executives. It was made known to the press by Secretary of the ward, Emuakemeh on Saturday in Abuja. Oshiomhole was suspended by the APC in November following his long lasting discord with Governor Godwin Obaseki of Edo state. The judgement of the high court in Abuja, Nigeria’s capital that suspended Oshiomhole as National Chairman of the party was predicated upon his suspension. Source: Sahara Reporters

Oshiomhole, the New god of Edo Politics

There have been interesting intrigues emanating from Edo state, Nigeria as the state prepares for its forthcoming governorship election slated for 19 September, 2020. On Friday 12 June, news broke of the disqualification of incumbent governor of the state- Godwin Obaseki from contesting the primary election of the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC). Though it was strange, but it was not totally unexpected given the cold war that has lingered between the governor and his predecessor- Adams Oshiomhole. Oshiomhole who is the National chairman of APC was a beneficiary of court ruling in 2008. He was declared rightful winner of the 2007 Edo election.
