Supreme Court Voids Andy Uba’s Candidacy In Anambra Gov Election

APC The Supreme Court on Tuesday voided Senator Andy Uba’s participation in the last governorship election in Anambra State as the candidate of the All Progressives Congress. A five-member panel of the court held that the APC breached its guidelines for the conduct of primaries and thus failed to conduct a valid primary from which Uba emerged as the party’s candidate. The apex court affirmed the February 23, 2022 judgment of the Court of Appeal, which upheld the December 20, 2021 judgment by Justice Inyang Ekwo of the Federal High Court, Abuja. The Supreme Court dismissed the appeals filed by Uba and the APC – marked: SC/CV/240/2022 and SC/CV/241/2022. 2023: APC Releases Full Schedule Of Activities

APC The All Progressives Congress, APC, has released its schedule of activities and timetable for the 2023 general elections. The party said this was done in accordance with the provisions of the Electoral Act 2022 (as amended) and the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, timetable. Recall that the National Executive Council (NEC) of the APC had met and transferred its powers to the National Working Committee (NWC) of the party. Following this development, the APC NEC, had fixed N100 million for its presidential nomination and expression of interest forms. The APC governorship form costs N50 million; Senate, N20 million; House of Representatives, N10 million and State Houses of Assembly, N2 million. The Federal High Court sitting in Abuja, on Friday, declared the seat of the former Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon. Yakubu Dogara, vacant, following his defection from the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, to the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC.
