  Former Delta Governor Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan is set to return to his former party the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). According to inside sources, Uduaghan will dump the APC at about 12 noon on Monday, 28 September. He had earlier left the PDP to join the All Progressives Congress (APC) where he contested the Delta South senatorial seat in 2019. The United States has praised the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and security agencies on their good outing during the Edo State governorship election last Saturday. Following his victory at the Saturday Edo poll, Governor Godwin Obaseki has been issued a certificate of return by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC). INEC presented the certificate to candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Obaseki and bis deputy, Philip Shaibu today. Obaseki had scored 307,955 votes across the 18 local government areas of Edo state to overcome challenge from his closest opponent, Osagie Ize-Iyamu of the All Progressive Congress (APC). The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), has announced governor Godwin Obaseki as the winner of Edo State governorship election held on Saturday. The victory meant Obaseki has secured a second term in office after seeing off contest from his opponents with a wide margin. INEC disclosed Obaseki’s victory on Sunday afternoon after he polled the highest number of votes in the Edo election. Obaseki who contested the election under the umbrella of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, defeated his closest opponent, Osagie Ize-Iyamu of the All Progressive Congress with a difference of 84,336 votes.
