Ex-Minister Solomon Dalung Dumps APC, Gives Reasons

Solomon Dalung A former Minister of Sports, Solomon Dalung, has dumped the All Progressives Congress. Dalung, who served as a minister under the regime of President Muhammadu Buhari submitted his letter of withdrawal from the APC to the Ward Chairman of the party in SabonGida Ward, Langtang South LGA of Plateau State. The letter dated April 1, 2022, and signed by the politician on April 18, 2022, was obtained by our Correspondent in Jos on Tuesday. 24 Edo North APC Exco Members Oppose Oshiomhole’s Senatorial Ambition

Adams Oshiomhole Twenty-four of the executive committee members of the All Progressives Congress, APC, from Edo North senatorial district have opposed the senatorial ambition of the former National Chairman of the party, Adams Oshiomhole. PDP The opposition Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Cross River State has said they will proceed to appeal the judgment delivered yesterday by an Abuja High Court, in favour of Governor Ben Ayade. An indication was given that the PDP will pursue the matter up to the Supreme Court. In a statement released early Friday morning and signed by its Chairman, Vena Ikem, the party said proceeding to the Appeal Court would remain “a civilized struggle and an intellectual exploration of the limits and vastness of our jurisprudence in this untested territory.” The party said they will not rest until they get justice. FCT High Court The Federal High Court sitting in Abuja, on Thursday, dismissed the suit the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, filed to declare the seat of Governor Ben Ayade of Cross River State and his Deputy, Ivara Esu, vacant, following their defection to the ruling All Progressive Congress, APC. The court, in a judgement that was delivered by Justice Taiwo Taiwo, held that the duo could not be sacked from their positions, other than through statutory procedures that were stipulated in sections 180, 188 and 189 of the 1999 Constitution, as amended.
