BREAKING: Court Refuses Emefiele’s Request For Restraining Order Against INEC, AGF

A Federal High Court in Abuja on Monday refused to grant a restraining order requested by the governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN, Godwin Emefiele against the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, and the Attorney General of the Federation, AGF, on his presidential ambition. Emefiele had, through his counsel, Mike Ozekhome SAN, applied for an order of status quo ante bellum to be made against INEC and AGF so that he would not be made to resign from office until 30 days to the general election. Reno Omokri There are claims that some presidential aspirants under the All Progressives Congress, APC, would willingly withdraw from the race during the presidential primary of the ruling party. Former presidential aide, Reno Omokri made the claim via his Twitter page on Thursday. According to him, Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, Rotimi Amaechi, Chris Ngige and Governor Yahaya Bello will be among the aspirants who will withdraw on the day of the APC presidential primary. 2023: It’s Too Early to Zone Presidency – PDP

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on Monday said that it would not be pressured into zoning its presidential ticket to the South-east zone. The party said it is too early to zone its ticket to any of the six geopolitical zones as the party needs to engage in consultations with relevant stakeholders to arrive at such a decision.
