Mexico defeated Korea republic 2:1 in their second group game. Carlos Vela opened scoring for the Mexican in the 26th minute when he converted a penalty.
The Mexicans doubled their lead through Javier ‘Chicharito’ Hernandez in the 66th minute. The score stayed the same until the 3rd minute of additional time when Son scored Korea Republics only goal of the tournament so far.
With this scoreline, Korea Republic is out of the tournament while Mexico is almost sure of qualifying. Mexico will ow take on Sweden on the 27th while Germany will take on Korea Republic at the same time.
