The Super Eagles of Nigeria are battle ready for their encounter against African giants, Algeria and Tunisia as all the invited players have arrived and training ahead of the Friday and Tuesday friendly matches.
The Eagles will play against the continent’s champions Algeria and Africa’s second-placed team Tunisia in Austria.
The Eagles ranks were bolstered by the clearance of Kevin Akpoguma, former Germany U20 captain by FIFA to represent his fatherland having played for Germany at youth level. His clearance adds to the team’s defensive options which already boasts of stars such as Kenneth Omeruo, Leon Balogun, Chidozie Awaziem, Wlliam Ekong, Olaoluwa Aina, Jamilu Collins, Oluwasemilogo Ajayi and Zaidu Sanusi.
The Eagles will face an Algerian team that is on an 18-mach unbeaten run, with their last loss being in October 2018 against Benin Republic. However, the Nigerian side hold a good record against the Algerian team having emerged 3-1 winners in a 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifying match in Uyo.
Nigeria will battle a Tunisian side which boasts of a star-studded squad, with players like Riyad Mahrez, Yassine Brahimi, Sofiane Feghouli and Baghdad Bounedjah set to star in the encounter.
The eagles will be without Victor Osimhen and Leicester City midfielder Wilfred Ndidi
While fresh faces, Frank Onyeka, Chidera Ejuke, and former U17 captain Samson Tijani will have the opportunity to stake a place in the team.
Both games are expected to kickoff at 8.30pm Austria time (7.30pm Nigeria time).
