Super Eagles Striker, Emmanuel Dennis has shown promising prospects after netting the opener in Watford’s 3-2 win over Aston Villa in the English Premier League on Saturday.

The Nigerian international, who wasted no time to announce his arrival to English football, putting in an impressive display in the match. Dennis joined the exclusive list of the likes of John Utaka, Osaze Peter Odemwingie, and Odion Ighalo as Nigerian players who scored on their first outing in the English Premier League.

What is more interesting about the victory was the way the Dennis and Club-record signing Ismaila Sarr combined well to sink Villa.

Sarr had already set up Emmanuel Dennis’ first club goal for Watford’s opener before he found the net himself for their second.

However, describing his feelings to Watford TV after Saturday’s brilliant debut, the former Club Brugge striker stated that he won’t forget the game in a hurry.

“I will remember this for all my life, I am really happy, I am really, really happy, I am speechless, I don’t know what to say, I am just really happy,” Dennis told Watford TV after the game.

He also relished his partnership with the Senegalese star, with who he said he had a better understanding within the attack.

“I think we will do wonders together [me and Sarr], we train together in training, we always train together and I know the combination will be very important for me if I am going to be the no.9 for the team, so I am really happy with the combination. As I said before, it is a process and I am very happy we started in a good way.”

“If you look at our squad, we are full of energy and I am very happy for the win because we have been working hard together in pre-season, so I am happy we gave the fans a good performance and they have gone home smiling.”

Meanwhile, Watford manager Xisco Munoz also heaped praises on the quick understanding between Dennis and Sarr in the team attack.

“I think the most important thing is that the team understand what is happening in the game, what space we need.

“Some days I can say I think the team understands what is narrow, and the most important thing is to understand the space, what space is, and we tried to create space for Dennis and for Sarr and it was a brilliant first half because we scored twice and we had more chances to score.
