Ondo State Tussle: Governor Akeredolu Sacks all Aids of Deputy, Ajayi as Pre-election Battle Continues

Ondo state Governor, Rotimi Akeredolu has dismissed all the aides attached to his deputy, Mr. Agboola Ajayi as speculations over an imminent impeachment of the deputy intensifies.

Among those sacked are: Olomu Bayo, Special Assistant, Special Duties; Olawale Abolade Mukaila, Special Assistant on Photography; Babatope Okeowo, Deputy Chief Press Secretary; Samuel Ogunmusi, Personal Assistant; Omotunmise Tokunbo, Special Assistant to the wife of the deputy governor, and Mrs Erifeyiwa Shola Akinnugba, Special Assistant on Photography to wife of the deputy governor.

A statement by the Chief Press Secretary to the governor, Mr. Segun Ajiboye directed all aids relieved of their duties to hand in all possessions of government in their care.

Mr. Allen Sowore, Special Assistant on New Media to Ajayi was earlier sacked from his role by the governor.

The deputy governor had recently resigned his membership of the All Progressive Congress (APC) and decamped to opposition party, People’s Democratic Party (PDP).

Ajayi has reiterated his willingness to hand on to the deputy governorship position despite exiting APC. Pressure is mounting on the Ajayi to resign his position.
