Following allegations of abuse by Femi Fani-Kayode’s estranged wife, Precious Chikwendu, his legal wife Mrs Regina Fani-Kayode has said the former minister never abused her in their 23 years of marriage.
She made the clarification during an interview with Punch on Monday.
Regina, Fani-Kayode’s third wife said they got married in 1997 according to Ghanaian customs and they went on to solidify their union at the Apapa Registry in Lagos in 2002.
“We have a beautiful daughter called Oluwaremilekun and both she and I are very proud of him. He has been a wonderful father and caring husband and he has never subjected me to any form of domestic abuse or treated me badly.
“Reports in the media that we are divorced are fake and suggestions that I was treated in a bad way by him or subjected to any form of abuse at any time in the 23 years that we have been married are malicious and false,” she said.
She went on to confirm knowledge of Fani-Kayode’s relationship with Precious that birthed four sons.
Regina added that she approved of the marriage, noting she relocated to Ghana and gave her approval for Fani-Kayode to take a new wife.
