Nigerian striker, Kelechi Iheanacho continued his impressive goalscoring form this season when he notched a goal for Leicester though it was not enough as they suffered a 4-2 home loss to Newcastle on Friday night.
The result left Leicester City’s top-four hopes hanging in the balance as they are just two points above inform Chelsea who face Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium later today.
Iheanacho cut in from the right before firing a low strike into the bottom corner three minutes to the stoppage time to hand Leicester their second goal of the match.
The goal marked Iheanacho’s 11th goal in 22 Premier League appearances this season and his 18th strike in all competitions in the current campaign.
Also, he has now scored 10 Premier League goals since the start of March, the most of any player.
The only player to score more goals over this period in Europe’s top five leagues is fellow Nigerian Simy Nwankwo with 12 in Serie A.
Compatriot Wilfred Ndidi also starred in the match before he replaced in the 63rd minute with Ayoze Perez.
Leicester remain in the third position on 63 points with three games left to play but face a tough challenge finishing in the top four with Chelsea needing a win against Manchester City to overtake them.
Their last three games will be against Manchester United and Chelsea away and an a home tie against Tottenham Hotspur.
