Kogi Confirms Explosion During Buhari’s Visit, Names Suspects

The Kogi State government has confirmed the explosion which rocked the state during a visit by President Muhammadu Buhari on Thursday. The state government blamed the explosion on “enemies of progress” and misguided politicians”. Recall that an explosion was reported around a community in Okene Local Government Area, LGA, of the State on Thursday morning. The incident occurred at a mosque near the palace of Ado Ibrahim, the paramount ruler of Ebiraland.   The development took place while President Buhari was in the area to inaugurate projects executed by the state government. Police Officer Shoots Lagos Lawyer Dead On Christmas Day

A policeman whose identity wasn't disclosed attached to the Lagos police command has shot dead a female lawyer identified as Bolanle Raheem. The incident reportedly took place on Sunday morning in the Ajah area of the State. Reports say the incident took place when the deceased and her family were on their way back from Christmas service. The car conveying them was stopped by some officers attached to the Ajiwe police station in Ajah. One of the officers reportedly shot at the car and the bullet hit the lawyer. The Inspector-General of Police, IGP, Usman Baba has directed the deployment of armed operatives to secure the Abuja-Kaduna train services.
