The World Igbo Congress, WIC, has disowned the security outfit tagged Ebubuagu recently announced by the governors of the South-East region. The group communicated their standpoint through its Chairman, Board of Directors, Prof. Anthony Ejiofor, and the executive members of WIC, Guardian reports. FG suspends Adeboye’s Helicopter from flying

The Federal Government through the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority has grounded a private chopper belonging to Pastor Enoch Adeboye of the Redeemed Christian Church of God at the Lagos Airport. Accoeding to a report by the Punch, it was learnt that the aircraft, AgustaWestland AW139 chopper, with registration number 5N-EAA, was suspended from flying over two weeks ago, following the expiration of some of its papers and spare parts. The suspension, officials said, would also allow the regulator to conduct vital safety checks on its safety-critical components, especially some spare parts that are due for replacement. Killer fruit juice: Kano confirms 10 dead, 400 hospitalised, Lagos, Cross River, Sokoto warn residents

The Kano State Government on Thursday said 10 people had died and 400 others hospitalised after drinking a poisonous fruit juice. The state government had last month said the poisonous fruit juice claimed three lives and  led to the  hospitalisation of 183 others. The state Commissioner for Health, Dr Aminu Tsanyawa,  in a video recording made available to journalists in Kano on Thursday, stated that out of 400 people hospitalised, 50 persons were undergoing treatment for kidney-related ailments. Customs Intercepts Contraband Goods Worth N786m in Kano, Jigawa

Officials of the Nigeria Customs Service, Zone ‘B,’ have intercepted contraband goods worth Duty Paid Value (DPV) of over N786 million in Kano/Jigawa axis. While displaying the intercepted items, the Coordinator of the Strike Force, Deputy Comptroller Osseini Olorukoba, said the seizures were made in the months of January, February and March. The seizures include two exotic vehicles, a N63m 2021 Mercedes Benz turbo 4Matic jeep. Customs said two suspects were arrested in connection to the smuggled goods. The Nigerian Air Force Alpha Jet which went off the radar during a Boko Haram operation in the North-East on Wednesday may have crashed. Intelligence report gathered by the Nigerian Air Force on Friday said the jet might have crashed although the whereabouts of the jet or the two pilots on board remain unknown.
