COVID-19: Tunisia Bars Ships of French Transport Company, Corsica Linea from Anchoring on its Ports

Tunisia has banned the ships of French transport company Corsica Linea from docking on its shores as crew test positive for COVID-19. Habib Ghedira, member of Tunisia’s committee to confront the COVID-19 was quoted by Mosaique FM radio on Saturday to have said that that the decision was taken by government to preempt spread of the disease in the North African country. This came after many crew members of a ship belonging to Corsica Linea company, which operated the Marseille-Tunis route from July 1 to July 10, tested positive for COVID-19. In addition, on July 14, another vessel of the same company that docked in the port of La Goulette in Tunis had eight people who tested positive for COVID-19. Nigerian Air Force Arrests Two Persons over Death of Country’s First Female Combat Helicopter Pilot

The Nigerian Air Force has confirmed that two persons have been arrested over the death of Nigeria’s first female combat helicopter pilot as investigation was launched to unravel circumstances leading to the death of the Flying officer in a road mishap last week. Air Commodore Ibikunle Daramola, NAF Director f Public Relations and Information in a communique said the force will disclose findings after investigation. Daramola said that the Arotile would be laid to rest at the National Cemetery, Abuja on Thursda, July 23 in maximum military honours. COVID-19 Update: Nigeria Reports 653 New COVID-19 Cases, Brings Confirmed Cases to 36,107

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has reported 653 new cases of COVID-19, in the country. Nigeria currently has 36,107 confirmed cases with 778 deaths while 14,938 patients have been discharged so far. School children in South Africa resumed classroom activities on Monday, 8th June 2020, as government starts to ease restrictions imposed on the country to curb the spread of corona virus. Resumption of schools was delayed in the country after teachers’ union advised members to ignore the order by the government to resume last week, stating that schools lacked adequate health measures to keep both teachers and pupils safe.
