Customs Seize 2,375 Litres Of Petrol, Generate Over N127m In Sokoto

The Nigerian Customs Service, NCS, Kebbi State Command, has seized not less than 2,375 litres of Petroleum Motor Spirit popularly known as petrol loaded in jerricans. The command in its November review stated that smuggled 303 bales and 94 sacks of second-hand clothing, and 58 bags of foreign parboiled rice of 50kg each; among other items with a duty paid value of 46,706,795,00 were intercepted by its operatives. Comptroller Joseph Attah, the Customs Area Controller stated this on Thursday while displaying the seized items by the Command in the month of November. He said that the command made more than N127 million in revenue during the period of review. NRC Increases Fares On Lagos-Ibadan Train Service Over Diesel Cost

The Nigeria Railway Corporation, NRC, has disclosed that the fares for Lagos-Ibadan and Lagos-Abeokuta train have been reviewed upwards. Recall that the NRC had in August announced a reduction in the number of trips on the Lagos-Ibadan route due to an increase in the cost of diesel. In a memo issued by the NRC, the train services for the Lagos-Ibadan route were hiked. Labour Party Assembly Candidate In Imo Dies

Chukwunonye Irouno, the Labour Party candidate for Okigwe Local Government Area of Imo State has died. The deceased who was a popular master of ceremony in Owerri and the Senior Special Assistant on Public Affairs and Entertainment to a former governor of the State, Rochas Okorocha, passed on late on Monday in his Owerri residence. IGP Deploys Armed Officers As Abuja-Kaduna Train Service Restarts Monday

The Inspector-General of Police, IGP, Usman Baba has directed the deployment of armed operatives to secure the Abuja-Kaduna train services. This was contained in a statement issued by the force spokesperson, Oluwuyiwa Adejobi, on Sunday.
