Court Sentences Two To Death By Hanging For Raping UNILORIN Student  

Justice Ibrahim Yusuf of the Kwara State High Court sentenced two students, identified as Abdulazeez Ismail and Ajala Olawatimileyin, to death by hanging for the murder of Blessing Olajide, a 300-level undergraduate of the University of Ilorin. Recall that Olajide was raped and murdered by the duo on June 2, 2021, at her sister’s residence in the Tanke area of Ilorin, Kwara State. The court also sentenced another student, Oyeyemi Omogbolahan, to life imprisonment. Justice Yusuf condemned two siblings: Abdulkarim Shuaib (aka Easy) and Kareem Rasheed (Rashworld), to three years imprisonment each for withdrawing money from the Guarantee Trust Bank account of the deceased, a few days after her murder. 439 Foreign-trained Doctors Failed Competence Exam – MDCN  

A total of 439 foreign-trained medical and dental graduates failed the assessment examination organised by the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria (MDCN). The MDCN conducted the two-day assessment examination on November 23 and 24, 2022, at Usman Danfodiyo University Teaching Hospital, Sokoto. This was stated by Dr Tijani Sanusi, the council’s Registrar, in an interview with Punch on Sunday. According to Sanusi, 916 foreign-trained medical and dental candidates took the assessment examination but only 477 candidates were successful. Odion Ighalo, former Super Eagles striker, has tipped Morocco to shock Portugal when they meet in the quarter-finals of the FIFA World Cup in Qatar on Saturday.   Morocco turned out as the second African team after the Super Eagles of Nigeria to beat Spain at the World Cup after they emerged victorious over the 2018 winner on penalties.
