Development: Reps Member Harps on Payment of Tax

A member, House of Representatives, Hon. Jide Jimoh on Wednesday called on the corporate organizations, business groups and Nigerians to pay tax for the development of the Local governments in the country. Jimoh, representing Lagos Mainland Federal Constituency made the call in Lagos during Yaba LCDA 2019 Business Summit tagged: "Inter-Personal Relationship Between Local Government and The Corporate Bodies". He said that funds generated from the payment of taxes would be channeled to the development of the local government. The Lagos State Government has commenced the sales of Lake Rice at various outlets across the State in preparation for the coming Eid-el-Kabir celebration. Lagos State Government has issued a warning to the residents of state-owned housing Estates to desist from modifying the approved designs of structures within their environment. Lagos RRS Nabs Suspect Planting Maids to Steal

The Lagos State Rapid Response Squad (RRS), a unit of the Lagos State Police Command, has arrested  a suspect who specialised in planting maid in homes to rob their employers of valuables. The man who was identified as Francis Okputu (37), a former dry cleaner operator said to have abandoned his dry cleaning job and took to sourcing house helps for wealthy families. In his confessional statement, Okputu used to go to rural areas to get the girls, who he later distributes to different homes as house helps. Police said the suspect used to plant the girls as maids in wealthy homes, ostensibly to use them to steal from their employers. Three-storey Building Collapses in Lagos

A three-storey has reportedly collapsed in the Ososa area of Bariga, Lagos State. The building collapsed around 9.30pm on Sunday. According to the Eye witness, six people had been rescued, and that many more might be trapped in the rubble. Residents said men of the Lagos State Fire Service were already on the ground, but were unable to gain entry yet, because the road to the scene is really bad. The Academic Staff Union of Polytechnic (ASUP), Yaba College of Technology (Yabatech), on Monday disengaged from all the part-time programmes in the college following the shortfall in the payment of wages and allowances to its members.
