The Nigerian Labour Congress, NLC, has declared July 26 and 27 as National Days of Protest nationwide to urge the Federal Government and the Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU, to find a solution to the 5-months strike.
Recall that ASUU had on February 14, 2022, embarked on a strike over issues relating to the renegotiation of the 2009 agreement and deployment of the University Transparency Accountability Solution (UTAS) payment platform.
The NCL had issued a 21-day ultimatum to the Federal Government to resolve the issue. The ultimatum had expired with the strike still lingering.
