Nigeria: Produce Nnamdi Kanu By June 26 Court Tells Abaribe, Others

Senate Enyinnaya Abaribe, senator representing Abia South in the upper house and two others have been ordered by the Federal High Court Abuja to produce Nnamdi Kanu in court by June 26th 2018. Justice Binta Nyako, the presiding judge gave this order following Nnamdi Kanu's continued absence from court. It will be recalled that Nnamdi Kanu's whereabouts has been unknown since the Army stormed his father's house on September the 22nd 2017. Senator Abaribe, Tochukwu Uchendu and Emmanuel Shallom Ben had all stood surety for him, signing bail bonds of N100 million each. A 25-year-old welder has been killed by a Fulani man in his shop in the Sabo area of Orile-Igbon town in Oyo State after a fight broke out at a joint close to the deceased shop. Eyewitnesses said the killer approached the victim, Joshua Adeniyi, who had just arrived at his shop from a naming ceremony on Saturday, and stabbed him in the chest, killing him before escaping from the scene. Tragedy struck in Obadolovbiyeyi community in the Ikpoba-Okha Local Government Area of Edo State when a vigilante, Efe Igbnovia, was shot dead by some soldiers. It was gathered that a local vigilance group had in the early hours of Wednesday arrested some suspected herdsmen for alleged armed robbery on the Benin-Abraka Expressway. The indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, has expressed outrage over the alleged declaration that its leader’s case file was missing in court.
