Flight Resumption in Nigeria; FAAN Issues Post COVID-19 Guidelines for Flight Operation

The Federal Airport Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) has released new guidelines for travelers as the country plans to safely reopen its airspace and airports to local flights without risking the health of travelers. Henrietta Yakubu, FAAN’s General Manager, Corporate Affairs in a report said, “the new Standard Operating Procedure is aimed at protecting all stakeholders and preventing further spread of the Covad-19 virus.” Yakubu said that of the guidelines stipulates that every passenger must mandatorily wear face masks and maintain a physical distancing of not less than 1.5m. Rwanda to Carry out Testing Survey of Coronavirus in the Street of Kigali

Rwanda will on Thursday commence a random COVID-19 street testing survey in Kigali and points of entry to ascertain the coronavirus situation in its largest city, a senior health officer revealed on Wednesday. The Lagos state government has approved seven private laboratories in the state to kick start COVID-19 testing and scale up testing capacity. Health ministry in Lagos disclosed that the ministry approved the seven laboratories after they had been vetted and properly screened by the Health Facility Monitoring and Accreditation Agency (HEFAMAA), to ensure their efficiency. Turkey Gifts Rwanda Face Masks to Help Combat COVID-19

Rwanda’s fight against coronavirus has been boasted by donation of face masks received from Turkey. The ministry of foreign affairs and international cooperation, Rwanda, acknowledged receipt of the donation in a statement describing it as “a sign of friendship and solidarity between the two countries in the fight against COVID-19.” The Turkish embassy in Rwanda said Ankara offered 50,000 face masks while a private firm donated 40,000 to Kigali in show of support to the East African nation. Coronavirus: Governor Okowa Goes into Isolation as Daughter Tests Positive

There is coronavirus scare in the Delta state government house as Governor Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta state, Nigeria has gone into isolation with his family following a positive COVID-19 test result for his daughter. Okowa announced on twitter that one of his daughters had tested positive for coronavirus. He said that his family has gone into isolation in compliance with Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) guideline. “Earlier today, Edith and I received the news that one of our daughters has tested positive for #COVID19.
