BBOG Releases Names of 112 Chibok Schoolgirls Still Held Captive

The Bring Back Our Girls movement has released a list bearing the names of all the girls still held captive by the terror group, Boko Haram after their kidnap on April 14, 2014. The list was released by the Lagos chapter of BBOG during a sit-out in Ikoyi to mark the seventh anniversary of the kidnap, Punch reports. Lear Sharibu along with 275 other girls were abducted from their school while preparing for final year examinations. After seven years, 164 were said to have regained freedom. Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State has announced the sack of the Vice-Chancellor of the Ladoke Atintola University of Technology, LAUTECH, Ogbomoso, Professor M.O. Ologunde. The decision was conveyed in a letter issued by the Commissioner for Education, Science, and Technology, Olasunkanmi Olaleye, on Friday. The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board has announced that the use of email would no longer be required for the processing of registration for the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination and Direct Entry. JAMB Postpones 2021 UTME Registration Over National Identification Number

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board, JAMB, has shifted the commencement of registration exercise for the 2021 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination and Direct Entry earlier scheduled to begin on Thursday, April 8. This was contained in a statement issued on Thursday by the board’s head of media and protocol, Fabian Benjamin, noting postponement was to ensure finishing touches are put on PIN vending processes before the take-off of the exercise. The West African Examinations Council, WAEC, has announced the release of private candidates’ results for the West African Senior School Certificate Examination, WASSCE, 2021-First Series. The Academic Staff Union of Polytechnics has commenced an indefinite strike with effect from today. The management of Adamawa State Polytechnic, Yola has announced the indefinite closure of the institution after final-year students went berserk. The irate students destroyed the institution’s 500-seater lecture theatre, burnt the Students’ Union Government building and also destroyed the Students’ Union’s president’s vehicle.
