The varsity opened the admission window in 2018. The Academic Staff Union of Universities has urged the Federal Government to implement the agreements reached before the suspension of its 10-month strike to avert a further strike by the union. The union lamented that the government was yet to pay some of its members in several universities, with arrears ranging between three and 14 months being owed. The President of ASUU, Prof Emmanuel Osodeke, disclosed these in an interview with SundayPunch. Speaking on a possible reaction of the union should the government remain intransigent, Osodeke said he would not hesitate to continue where his predecessor, Prof Biodun Ogunyemi, stopped. According to the school management, the need to sustain the safety of lives and property on the campus is much important than social activities. JAMB Reacts to Speculation of Further Extension of UTME registration

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board, JAMB, has said that it is not considering a further extension of the UTME registration period. The examination body added that a large chunk of the individuals campaigning for an extension to the registration deadline had been identified as fraudsters determined to subvert and undermine the directive of the Federal Government to make the National Identification Number a prerequisite for JAMB registration. It, however, said only candidates with genuine proofs of failed efforts will be allowed new extension dates. This was contained in a statement titled ‘Issues surrounding the 2021 UTME/DE registration.’ Recall that the board had on May 15, 2021, in response to the pressure from the public, announced a two-week extension of the regis...
