Second Niger Bridge To be Opened For 30 Days

The Federal Government has directed the opening of the Second Niger Bridge for use during the yuletide to ear traffic in the South-East region. The bridge was formerly opened in the late hours of Thursday. The Minister of Works and Housing, Babatunde Fashola, who issued the directive on Wednesday at the inauguration of the bridge, stated that it will be opened for a period of one month during the festive period. Fashola said that the bride will be shut down to traffic on January 15, 2023. The minister asked motorists that will be plying the bridge to be cautious so as not to defeat the purpose of constructing the bridge. Demola Seriki, Nigeria’s ambassador to Spain has passed on at the age of 63. Seriki, a Lagos State politician reportedly died in Madrid, Spain. His death was confirmed by a notice issued by his children on Thursday. According to the notice, he died in Madrid, Spain during the early hours of the day. Justice Ibrahim Yusuf of the Kwara State High Court sentenced two students, identified as Abdulazeez Ismail and Ajala Olawatimileyin, to death by hanging for the murder of Blessing Olajide, a 300-level undergraduate of the University of Ilorin. Recall that Olajide was raped and murdered by the duo on June 2, 2021, at her sister’s residence in the Tanke area of Ilorin, Kwara State. The court also sentenced another student, Oyeyemi Omogbolahan, to life imprisonment. 439 Foreign-trained Doctors Failed Competence Exam – MDCN

A total of 439 foreign-trained medical and dental graduates failed the assessment examination organised by the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria (MDCN). The MDCN conducted the two-day assessment examination on November 23 and 24, 2022, at Usman Danfodiyo University Teaching Hospital, Sokoto. This was stated by Dr Tijani Sanusi, the council’s Registrar, in an interview with Punch on Sunday.
