2022 WAFCON: Ucheibe Delighted to Register First Goal For Falcons

Super Falcons player, Christy Ucheibe is delighted to be on the scoresheet for the first time for the Nigerian team as they beat Botswana 2-0 in their second Group C match of the WAFCON 2022. Ucheibe came on as a substitute for Rita Chikwelu before the second half began and scored the second goal of the encounter in the 48th minute. She rose to head home a corner kick which was swung in by Toni Payne. The win was the first for the defending champions who are now placed second in their group behind leaders South Africa. Gunmen Attack Kuje Prison, Release Inmates

Gunmen attack at the the Kuje Custodial Centre in Abuja yesterday caused major panic as residents feared for their lives. The suspected terrorist attack was carried out in a deliberate attempt to force entry and free some prisoners. Reports say three bomb blasts were heard within the correctional facility with the first one occurring around 10;25pm.
