Human Rights activist, Femi Falana, SAN, has asked the Federal Government to cease provoking lecturers under the aegis of the Academic Staff Union, ASUU, in a dispute over wages. Falana said this when he appeared on Channels Television’s programme, Politics Today, on Tuesday. He said university teachers deserve their full salaries for the period they were on strike. Recall that ASUU had on February 14, 2022, declared a strike that lasted for eight months, grounding academic activities in the nation’s public universities. Tiktokers To Be Flogged In Kano For Defaming Ganduje

The Kano State Magistrates’ Court in its ruling on Monday ordered the flogging of two comedians identified as Mubarak Muhammad, and Zazifi Bala, for abusing Governor Abdullahi Ganduje of Kano State on their Tiktok handles. According to Magistrate Aminu Gabari, in his ruling on Monday, the duo should be given 20 lashes for their offense and will sweep and wash toilets in the surroundings of the court for a period of 30 days. The Magistrate ordered that the individuals be publicly flogged. The convicts were also ordered to pay a fine of N10,00 each for defaming Ganduje and a further N10,00 for causing public disturbance.
