Olusegun Obasanjo, former President of Nigeria has said that anyone who is happy with the country’s present condition should be medically examined. The former president disclosed this when he appeared as the special guest of honour at the Wilson Badejo Foundation’s 15th annual lecture. The lecture was theme, ‘Overcoming the twin challenges of poverty and insecurity in Nigeria’ held in Lagos’. Obasanjo blamed poverty and insecurity for the country’s underdevelopment. Governor Rotimi Akeredolu of Ondo State has reaffirmed his stance on the next president of the country coming from the Southern part of Nigeria. He disclosed this on Wednesday during an interview on the Channels Television programme, Politics Today. Governor David Umahi of Ebonyi State has claimed that university education is not for everybody. The governor stated that it would be unreasonable for President Muhammadu Buhari's administration to borrow in excess of N1trn to meet the demands of the striking Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU. Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu of Ondo State has confirmed the arrest of five suspects who attacked the St Francis Catholic Church, Owo which left several people dead. The confirmation follows the announcement by General Lucky Irabor, Chief of Defence Staff, CDS, in Abuja. The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, has said that it did not recognize Senator Godswill Akpabio and Senate President Ahmad Lawan as candidates of the All Progressives Congress for the 2023 general election. The West African Examinations Council, WAEC, has announced the release of the 2022 West African Senior School Certificate Examination for school candidates. Mr Patrick Areghan, the Head of Nigeria Office, WAEC, announced this on Monday at the WAEC office, Yaba. He said, “The results are being uploaded on the results website.
