Appeal Court Constitutes Edo Governorship Election Tribunal Panel

  President of the Court of Appeal, Justice Monica Dongban-Mensem, on Monday constituted the Governorship Election Petition Tribunal to handle petitions arising from the gubernatorial election in Edo State. The tribunal’s secretary, Sunday Martins, Esq., disclosed this in a statement released on Monday, in Abuja. According to the statement, the tribunal has been mandated to hear and determine petitions that may arise from the election.   Following the announcement of Governor Godwin Obaseki, the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) as the winner of the gubernatorial elections in Edo State yesterday, former Vice President Alhaji Atiku Abubakar has congratulated the Governor. Edo 2020: Phillip Shaibu Wins Polling Unit with Wide Margin

  Edo State deputy governor, Philip Shaibu, has polled 401 votes in his polling unit by 401 votes as against the All Progressives Congress’s 148 votes in today’s Governorship election. He earlier voted at Ward 11, polling unit 5 of Etsako West LGA where he addressed his supporters to remain calm and allow the rule of law to prevail.
