Super Eagles head coach Gernot Rohr has promised that the Leone Stars will not be underrated when both clash in a 2021 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium, Benin City, on Friday. Chief of Air Staff (CAS) Air Marshal Sadique Abubakar has disclosed that the remodeled School of Air Intelligence in Makurdi, Benue State, will strengthen the fight against insurgency. At the opening of the NAF School of Air Intelligence at NAF Base in Makurdi, Abubakar reiterated the Federal Government’s commitment to reposition the Air Force into a highly professional and disciplined force through capacity building. Confusion in Eagles Camp As Akpeyi and Ezenwa Hit Eagles Camp

There is a mild confusion in the Super Eagles camp in Benin city following the arrival of goalkeeper Daniel Akpeyi who was earlier reported to be having Visa issues into the country. The development led to the invitation of third choice goalkeeper Ikechukwu Ezenwa. Ezenwa had earlier arrived the camp on Tuesday on invitation by the team handlers in a precautionary measure to fill the void left by Daniel Akpeyi. However, the Kaizer Chiefs shot stopper arrived Lagos today, quelling all speculations about his unavailability for the match. Commercial banks in Ikere-Ekiti, the headquarters of Ikere Council Area of Ekiti State on Tuesday shut down operations following the alleged withdrawal of service by policemen. According to a report by The Nation, financial institutions as well as Point of Terminal(POS) outlets were under lock and key due to fear of being attacked over alleged absence of policemen. The Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice of Lagos State Moyosore Onigbanjo SAN has advised the courts to immediately release 253 persons arrested by the Police in connection with the #EndSARS protest in the state. The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has stated that it lacks the power to investigate or disqualify candidates of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Edo during the September 19 election of Governor Godwin Obaseki, over alleged forgery of the University of Ibadan’s (UI) certificate.
