Nigeria: Amnesty International Blames the Government for the Increased Killings
Amnesty international has blamed the Nigerian government for the increase in the killings by herdsmen across the country. According to the body, the inaction exhibited by the government of President Buhari has encouraged the killers.
According to the reports, no fewer than 1,813 had been lost this year alone to these killers across about 17 states. This is more than two times the 984 death toll recorded in 2017.
While addressing this issue, Amnesty International in its report said "We are gravely concerned about the rising spate of killings across the country, especially the communal clashes between farmers and herders and attacks by bandits across at least 17 states.
