The Apostle of Auchi, The Pastor of Bolo and Igbo Stereotypes

The Igbo ethnic nationality has received some swipes from a number of Church leaders of very recent. Why it is hard to tackle these at times is that they are presented as goodwill messages meant to make the Igbo better in one way or the other. Pastor Fatoyimbo tell the Igbo that they are under a hustling-spirit curse So, we see Pastor Fatoyimbo tell the Igbo that they are under a hustling-spirit curse because of their stinginess to the work of God. Pastor Tunde Bakare tell the Igbo that they are under a curse, because they forced Alhaji Tafawa Balewa to drink alcohol; a curse which he (Bakare), in his kind nature, has lifted. Father Anelu ban Igbo songs in his parish as he admonishes the Igbo against cultural, and such, domination. Apostle Suleman reprimand the Igbo for disunity...

10 Reasons Osinbajo Will Ignite a Religious Civil War by Farooq Kperogi

A Yemi Osinbajo presidency would, without a doubt, plunge Nigeria into the depths of a smoldering religious volcano that will hasten its self-immolation. This isn’t some idly churlish oracular indulgence. It’s based on an intimate familiarity with Osinbajo’s trajectory of religious bigotry, overpowering anti-Muslim prejudice, and irrevocable devotion to the materialization of a Pentecostal, specifically RCCG, capture of the Nigerian state. Here’re 10 reasons for my fears: 1. The RCCG memo that asked churches to actively support its members vying for political offices was inspired by Osinbajo and is consistent with his history of exclusivist religious politics. In 2013, for example, he formed the Christian Conscience Group—along with Enoch Ajiboso, Dele Sobowale, and Most Reverend Josep...

Blacks in Ukraine Being Prevented from Fleeing the Country

Blacks Trying to Leave Ukraine Blacks in Ukraine are calling out for help, alleging that they are being prevented from fleeing the country. It's no longer news that Russia has invaded parts of Ukraine and that people are fleeing the now threatened country. What may however be news to some is that blacks may be the victims of marginalization and even ill-treatment as people try to flee. It's on record that blacks, especially Africans, make up about 20% of the Ukrainian International students' populations. With the conflict now erupting, they like many others are trying to leave the country. With many African countries not showing much by way of commitment to its citizens in the now waring country, these international students are forced to fend for themselves. See Also: Fede...

Why Contract Talks With NFF Broke Down – Peseiro

Jose Peseiro Portuguese coach Jose Peseiro has offered explanations on why his contract talks with the Nigeria Football Federation fell through. Peseiro was announced as the replacement for German tactician Gernot Rohr last December and was expected to travel to Cameroon for the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations. The NFF however changed its mind and decided to stick with interim manager Austine Eguavoen for now despite the team's early elimination from AFCON 2021. “We acknowledge and appreciate the interest that Mr. Jose Peseiro has shown in Nigeria Football during our very cordial discussions and have absolutely no doubt about his capacity. We believe that perhaps in the future, there could be an opportunity to work with him," the NFF General Secretary, Dr. Mohammed Sanusi said in a st...

Lessons to be Learnt from the Recent Attack on IrokoTV

So I just learnt that there was an attack on IrokoTv App in the form of attempts to have it delisted on both Google Playstore and iOS store. This move by some in the North was  in "retaliation" for the delisting of Adamu Garba's Crowwe from Google Play Store. Last I checked, retaliation meant "to hurt someone or do something harmful to someone because they have done or said something harmful to you". Based on the definition above, I fail to see how a mass action by the North to have IrokoTV app delisted by Google and Apple because Crowwe was delisted can be called retaliation. Was it Jason Njoku (owner of IrokoTV) that delisted Crowwe? Interestingly, it was the people he made fun of some years ago that came to his rescue. Ndi Igbo and the rest of Southern Nigeria galvanized into a...

Opinion: 5 Reasons Why President Trump won’t Support Okonjo-Iweala as Next WTO Director General – Blessing Mene

This is an opinion article by Blessing Mene. People who want Okonjo-Iweala to become the next WTO Director-General mostly are excited about the prospect of the first female & African to lead the WTO. But President Trump doesn't think that way, here are five secret reasons why President Trump won't support Okonjo-Iweala: 1. He thinks from the perspective of Nationalism and his biggest interest is to have a WTO leader who will stand up to China and other countries leveraging loopholes in the WTO to supposedly "take advantage" of America. Look at how Trump is reshaping to the US Supreme Court and Federal Courts. 2. President Trump's a radical conservative who is currently looking to end the influence of liberals and globalism. That's why he got elected in the first place. He doesn'...

Lekki Shooting: Fashola Tampered with Evidence at Lekki Toll by Retrieving Hidden Camera without the Consent of the Panel

Senior Advocate of Nigeria and respected human rights activist, Ebun-Olu Adegboruwa, has noted that removing of a camera at the Lekki Toll by the former Lagos Governor and current minister for works, Babatunde Raji Fashola, amounts to evidence tampering. In a post made available publicly, the attorney noted that it was illegal for any individual to carry out any kind of investigation at the toll at this time without the express permission of the panel. The full statement is published below. "USURPATION OF POWERS OF THE PANEL OF INQUIRY ON SARS ABUSES "On Sunday, October 25, 2020, it was widely publicized that Ministers and Governors of the South-West visited the Governor of Lagos State on a sympathy tour of structures affected by the wanton looting and destruction that took pla...

The Presidential Speech of Ohaneze Youth Council(OYC) on 23rd of October 2020 at Owerri, Imo State

#EndSARS Protest: The Journey Of The Lions And Eagles My fellow brave youths of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. I salute you all on this third week of #EndSARS protest. We started well until the Nigeria government betrayed themselves. Let it be known that every violent attack at the ongoing protest are done by government paid agents to discredit the peaceful protesters. To this effect, we have studied the whole scenario going on since #EndSars protest started. There are three groups in the recent event, namely: 1.The #EndSars protesters which have remained peaceful 2.The Thugs and Hoodlums hired by Nigerian Politicians to counter the peaceful #EndSars protesters with violent attack 3.The Gangsters/thugs the Nigeria politicians armed during election and has been using them si...
