Governor Samuel Ortom of Benue state has made a U-turn on his decision to leave the ruling party APC. His decision came after he met with the party's new chairman Adams Oshiomole. Speaking on his change of mind, Ortom said "I am here in APC, a member of APC; I’m still flying the flag of APC and I only said I was given a red card." Nigeria: Suspected Kidnappers of Chibok Girls Paraded By the Police

The Nigerian Police today paraded eight men who are suspected to have been part of the kidnapping of the Chibok girls. The eight suspects were part of a group of 22 men paraded by the Borno State Commissioner of Police, Damian Chukwu. According to Mr Chukwu, the 22 men that were paraded were members of the Boko Haram sect and were responsible for various crimes including the kidnapping of the Chibok girls and over 50 suicide bombings. The Commissioner praised the Inspector General of Police (IGP)’s Intelligence Response Team (IRT) led by DCP Abba Kyari, saying it was their act of gallantry that led to the successful arrest of the suspects. With Roma and Liverpool agreeing to the terms of the deal, Becker is now expected to fly to Liverpool to finalize the deal. Confirming the move, the goalkeeper has already thanked Roma fans, telling them that it was time for a new adventure. Becker will now replace Loris Karius who joined Liverpool in 2016. Many will remember him for his awful outing during the final stages of the Champion's league.

The Minister of State for Aviation, Hadi Sirika today Wednesday the 18th of July unveiled the name and logo of the long awaited Nigerian carrier - Nigeria Air. This happened at the Farnborough International Airshow in London. Speaking at the event, the Minister noted that this was not a social service but a private sector driven initiative. Benue state governor Samuel Ortom has defected from the APC. Ortom announced his departure from the party on Sunday at the government house while he was swearing in his new Special Adviser on Local Government and Cheftaincy Affairs, Jerome Torshimbe. According to the governor, APC had given him the red card, leaving him outside the pitch. He said "I’ve been given the red card and I’m now outside the pitch. France has won the 2018 FIFA World Cup after defeating Croatia 4:2. In a match that saw Croatia having about 61% of the ball possession, the French took the lead through an 18th minute own goal, off a Mandzukic header. Nigeria: APC’s Fayemi Wins Ekiti Gubernatorial Elections

The keenly contested battle between APC and PDP in the just concluded gubernatorial elections in Ekiti state of Nigeria has been won by the ruling party, APC. For many months before the elections, it was clear that the battle for Ekiti's government house was regarded as a do or die affair by the two leading parties. According to the returning officer for the election and Vice Chancellor of the University of Ibadan, Professor Idowu Olayinka, Kayode Fayemi of APC won the election with 197,459 votes while his PDP opponent, Professor Olusola Eleka got 178,121 votes. Of the 16 local government areas, APC won in 13 while PDP won in only 3. With this win, Fayemi returns to Ekiti government house for a second tenure. He had lost to Fayose after his first term which ran from 2010 to 2014.
