The Nigerian women’s team defeated Botswana women’s team on Thursday night at the WAFCON 2022 in Morocco.
Although the Super Falcons started their campaign with a defeat against the Bayana Bayana of South Africa, they were able to come out on top with two goals to nil win over Botswana.
The Falcons took the lead in the 21st minute when Ifeoma Onumonu took advantage of a defense-splitting pass from Halimatu Ayinde and buried the ball past the Mares’ goalkeeper.
while the second goal was scored by Ucheibe Christy in the 46th minute.

The South African Women’s team has already qualified for the quarter-finals as they defeated Burundi 3-1 on Thursday night.
The Super Falcon will face Burundi, while the Bayana Bayana of South Africa will play against Botswana on Sunday.
