The Nigerian Senate has made a call to the Federal Government to rename the Ibadan Airport, Oyo state after the deceased former governor of the state, Senator Abiola Ajimobi.
Senator Abdulfatahi Buhari moved a motion on the floor of the Senate to its effect which was seconded by Senator Ibikunle Amosun and thereafter adopted by the house.
Senator Buhari praised the effort of Senator Ajimobi towards the development of Oyo state. Ajimobi represented his constituency in the 5th Senate from 2003 to 2017.
The upper legislative chamber observed a minute silence in memory of Ajimobi.
