Nigeria: Buhari Bans Dead Judge from Travelling

The former Chief Judge of Enugu, Late Justice Innocent Azubike Umezulike has been banned from travelling out of the country by the Buhari led administration. The Justice who died on the 26th of June 2018 made the list of 50 high profile Nigerians who were forbidden from leaving the country by a Presidential order.

It will be recalled that President issued a Executive Order 6 (EO6) that was ruled legal by the courts. According to Shehu Garba the purpose of the order was to ensure “that all assets within a minimum value of N50 million or equivalent, subject to investigation or litigation are protected from dissipation by employing all available lawful means, pending the final determination of any corruption-related matter.”

As part of this order, the President ordered the ban of 50 Nigerians including the late Justice.
