Former Minister of Aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode has berated the National leader of All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Tinubu over his call for Edo voters to reject Godwin Obaseki in the Edo state governorship poll.

Fan-Kayode in a post on his official Facebook page described Tinubu’s comments as comic relief.

Recall that Tinubu had posted a video on social media where he urged Edo voters to reject Obaseki as they gear towards their governorship election.

Tinubu who described himself as leader of all democrats regardless of political party said that Obaseki having not partook in the struggle to entrench democracy in the country could not understand the pains and value associated with it.

Reacting to the statement, Fani-Kayode said, “Tinubu’s broadcast served as nothing but comic relief. It was more of a long-winded slur and self-serving pepper soup-joint rant than a speech.

It was a repugnant and repulsive repellant to Edo state voters and his anti-Obaseki diatribe may well cost Ize Iyamu the election on Saturday.

“For the self-proclaimed leader of democracy in Nigeria and a man who has presidential aspirations this was a pitiful and disappointing outing.

“He appeared weak, desperate and truly pathetic. Worse of all he was incoherent, barely audible and his baseless assertions bordered on the absurd and the nonsensical. The people of Edo state are a proud and noble people with good breeding, a great history and a rich cultural heritage.

“They do not like being told what to do by a Lagos slumlord whose name, background and true lineage is shrouded in mystery and secrecy”.
